In this journey, eliminating the contradictions in the way we approach ancient traditions and modern discoveries is the first step towards the true truth.
In human history, Life and Soul:
A Computer Analogy
To dispel many fictions about life and soul, comparing them to a computer's operation helps simplify complex philosophies.
Body (Hardware): A computer's screen, chips, and parts are made of various elements; ultimately, they are all assemblies of atoms. Similarly, the human body is matter constructed from atomic elements like carbon and hydrogen.
Life (Energy / Power Flow): Electricity flow is essential for a computer to run. The flow of electrons in that electricity activates the machine. Likewise, ongoing bio-chemical reactions in human cells make the body function. If this energy flow stops, just as a computer shuts down, we call that cessation death.
Soul / Consciousness (Software / OS): Software runs only if there's electricity in the computer. Similarly, in humans, the integrated functioning of memories, experiences, and emotions is the soul or consciousness. Scientific view holds that if the brain (hardware) is damaged or the life energy flow stops, this consciousness ceases.
Beliefs and Scientific Truths
We often accept the ideas of ancient sages without question. But science is not a conclusion; it's ongoing inquiry. Its strength lies in self-correcting based on new information from each era.
Just because there was once a belief that the world is flat doesn't make the truth that it's round false. No. Our understanding changes, and so do our thought processes. But truth is always one; only the paths to it vary.
Darwin and Modern Perspectives
Itt's a great contradiction to study scientists' discoveries only for exams and forget them in life. Especially when we ignore Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, we fall back into the simple fiction that "this world was created in a single moment by someone." Evolution is not an accident; it's a continuous change.
We must view science not just as a tool for livelihood, but as a lens to understand life. Living in this era where artificial intelligence (AI) reigns, we have no need to lose faith in our knowledge. Let's respect past wisdom; but we shouldn't hesitate to test it against today's scientific touchstone.
Science and Spirituality: Differing Approaches
Many who believe in spiritual philosophies consider them unchanging, final truths. On the other hand, those who accept scientific theories are ready to change and update them whenever new evidence emerges. This difference in approach is key. Thinking stagnates where questions are avoided; it grows where questions are welcomed. In that sense, science is not a belief that stands still; it's a continuous journey.
Let discussions continue without hatred.

Sekar: ஒன்றுக்கு மூன்று இருக்கிறது. மனிதகுலம் சந்திக்கும் பிரச்சினைகளைத்தான் நேரடியாக பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோமே. எதனால் பிரச்சனைகள் என்பதில் மாறுபட்ட பார்வைகள் இருக்கக்கூடும். அதில் முக்கியமான அடிப்படையான பிரச்சனை சொத்துடமைச் சமூக அமைப்பு. இதுதான் எனது அனுபவமும் புரிதலும்.

ReplyDeleteSekar: இருக்கலாம். யாருடைய பார்வையாக இருந்தாலும் எனது புரிதலுக்கு ஏற்பதான் நான் அதைப் புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியும். காரணம் எனது புரிதலுக்கு அடிப்படை இந்தப் புற உலகு. இந்தப் புற உலகை நான் எந்த அளவுக்கு உள்வாங்கி இருக்கிறேனோ அந்த அளவுக்குதான் என்னுடைய புரிதலும் இருக்கும். மனிதர்களுக்கிடையில் இந்த உள்வாங்குதல் வேறுபடுவதால்தான் புரிதல்களும் மாறுபடுகின்றன.

DeleteSekar: யாரும் எதையும் படைப்பதில்லை. ஒன்று மற்றொன்றாய் இயல்பாய், இயற்கையாய், மனிதனால் அன்றாடம் மாறிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. அது குறித்துதான் விரிவான கட்டுரை ஒன்றை எழுதி இருக்கிறேன்.
ReplyDeleteஉண்மைதான். பல்வேறு பிரச்சனைகளை மனிதன்தான் உருவாக்கிக் கொள்கிறான். அதை மனிதனால்தான் தீர்க்க முடியும்.
நாம் உருவாக்கும் பொருள்களில் பிரச்சனை என்றால் நாம்தான் அதை தீர்த்து வைக்கிறோம் (எ.கா: எந்திரங்கள்). காரணம் அதைப் படைத்தவர்கள் அதாவது உருவாக்கியவர்கள் நாம்தான்.
நம்மைப் படைத்தவன் நமக்கு ஒரு பிரச்சனை என்றால் ஏன் தீர்ப்பதில்லை என்றுதானே யோசிக்க வேண்டும்?
Rajasekaran: உள் உணர்வு, உள் மனம் என எல்லாமே மூளையின் வெளிப்பாடுதான். சில நேரங்களில் நமது உணர்வுகளுக்கு மாறாக செயல்படுவதும் மூளையின் கட்டளையால்தான். அதற்குக் காரணம் குறிப்பிட்ட பிரச்சனையில் போதிய விவரங்கள் இல்லாமல் முடிவெடுக்கத் திண்டாடும் போது நடப்பவை இவை. எல்லாம் அவன் (மூளை) செயலே.
ReplyDeleteகுழப்பமான சூழலில் மனிதன் பிறரது உதவியை நாடுகிறான். மற்றொரு மனிதன் உதவும் போது குழப்பம் தீர்ந்தால் அடித்த வேலையை கவனிக்கிறான். தீராத போதும், வேறொரு மனிதனின் ஆதரவும் உதவாத போதும் அவன் மன ஆறுதலுக்காக ஒரு துணையை கற்பிதம் செய்து கொள்கிறான். அந்தக் கற்பிதம்தான் கடவுள்.
கடவுளை நம்புவோரிடம்கூட நம்பிக்கையின் ஆழம்கூட ஒரே அளவில் இருக்காது. அந்த நம்பிக்கை அவரவரின் பிரச்சனைகளைப் பொருத்து வேறுபடும்.

ReplyDeleteநம் அறிவால் பற்றிக்கொள்ள ஒரு அடையாளம், கடவுள். அது என்றும் உள்ள (அழிவற்ற - பிறப்பு இறப்பு இல்லாத) தத்துவப் பொருள். சைவ சித்தாந்தம் அதை உண்மைப் (மெய்ப்) பொருள் என்று கூறுகிறது.
அந்த கடவுளுக்கு எட்டு குணங்களை வரையறுத்துள்ளனர் நம் முன்னோர். அவை அந்தந்த குணங்களின் உச்சம்; அதற்கு மேல் கிடையாது.
அவையாவன -
1. தூயவன் (அழுக்கென்பதே கிடையாது)
2. எல்லாம் அறிந்தவன் (அறிவின் உச்சம், அனைத்தையும் தானே அறியக்கூடிய ஆற்றல். மனித அறிவு அறிவிக்க அறிவது. அதனால் கல்வி தேவைப்படுகிறது)
3. ஆனந்தமானவன் (துன்பமே இல்லாத நிலை)
4. மாறாத உண்மை (பொய்யற்ற நிலை)
5. எல்லையற்றவன் (எங்கும் வியாபித்து இருக்கும் சத்தி)
6. அருளாளன் (எல்லையற்ற கருணை கொண்டவன். எவ்வுயிர்க்கும் துன்பம் விளைவிக்காதவன். மாறாகத் துன்பத்தில் சிக்கித் தவிக்கும் உயிர்களை மீட்கும் சத்தி).
7. எல்லையற்ற ஆற்றல் (அதற்கு மிஞ்சிய ஆற்றல் ஒன்று கிடையாது).
8. குறையற்றவன் (பரிசுத்த நிலை).
இப்படி ஒரு பொருள் இருக்குமானால் அதுவே கடவுள்.
"கோளில் பொறியின் குணமிலவே எண்குணத்தான்
தாளை வணங்காத் தலை." - திருக்குறள்.
திருவள்ளுவர், இறைவனின் குணங்களைப் பற்றி குறட்பாக்களில் குறிப்படுகிறாரேயன்றி, கடவுள் இன்ன வடிவம் கொண்டவர் என்று எங்கும் குறிப்பிடவில்லை.
அது இரண்டாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முந்தைய தமிழர்களின் அறிவுத் தெளிவு!
நிற்க.
உயிர் பொருள் அனைத்தும் (சைவ சித்தாந்தத்தின்படி) ஏதோ ஒருவகையில் அறிவு உடையவை. கடவுள் அறிவின் உச்சம், அனைத்தும் அறிந்தவர். உயிரினங்களில் மனிதன் அறிவிற் சிறந்தவன் என்பதால் கடவுளுடன் தொடர்புடையவர்கள் (உறவினன்?) ஆகிறோம். அதனால், gut feeling, intuition, எல்லாம் அறிவே. ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் அது வேறுபடுகிறது. காரணம், தரவுகளை ஏற்கும் தகுதி ஆளுக்கு ஆள் மாறுபடுகிறது. அது பிறப்பு இரகசியம்!

குணங்களுக்கு உச்சம் என்று எதுவும் இருக்க முடியாது. குணங்கள் அந்தந்த சமூகச் சூழலுக்கு ஏற்ப மாறக்கூடியது. மனிதனின் புரிதலுக்கு ஏற்ப வேறுபடக் கூடியது.
இந்த வேறுபாடுகளை அன்றைய மனிதன் வகைப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறான். அவ்வளவே.
திருவள்ளுவராகட்டும், சைவ சித்தாந்திகளாகட்டும் அவர்கள் வாழ்ந்த காலம் உற்பத்தி முறையில் மிகவும் பின்தங்கிய அதீத கேடுகள் நிறைந்த சமூகக் காலகட்டம். அப்போது மனிதன் சந்தித்த பிரச்சனைகளுக்கு அவரவர் புரிதலில் கருத்துக்களை வெளிப்படுத்தினார்கள். அவர்களுக்கே புரியாத போது தீர்வு சொல்லத் தெரியாத போது அவர்களுக்கும் கடவுளின் துணை தேவைப்பட்டது. அவர்கள் சொல்லிவிட்டார்கள் என்பதற்காக அவை எல்லாமே உண்மையாகி விடாது.
உற்பத்தி முறையில் நாம் ஒரு முன்னேறிய சமூகத்தில் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். பழங்கால ஞானிகளின் சிந்தனைகளைவிட விட நமது சிந்தனையே உயர்வானதாக இருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனாலும் இது முன்னேறியயே சமூமாக இருந்த போதிலும், இங்கே பிரச்சனைகளும் இருப்பதனால் அதைத் தீர்க்க வழி தெரியாமல் நாமும் அடுத்தவர்களின்-ஆண்டவனின் துணையை நாடுகிறோம். அதனால்தான் பழைய ஞானிகளும் நம்முடனே வருகின்றனர். இல்லை என்றால் அவர்கள் வரலாற்றின் பக்கங்களில் என்றோ மறைந்து போயிருப்பர். அப்படி மறைந்தவர் எண்ணற்றோர்.
இதுவே கடவுள் பற்றிய எனது புரிதல்.

'idiotic, idiots of the third order' இது என்ன விவாத முறை? கடவுள் நம்பிக்கை உள்ளவர்களையும் சக மனிதர்களாக மதிப்பதுதான் கடவுள் இல்லை என்று கூறும் என் போன்றோரின் அணுகுமுறை. விவாதம் கருத்துக்கள் மீதான ஒன்றாக இருக்க வேண்டுமே ஒழிய நபர்கள் மீது அல்ல. இங்கே இந்த விவாதம் தேவை இல்லை என்று கருதினால் முடித்துக் கொள்ளலாம்.

DeleteMSR: Waste of time. விளக்கம் கொடுத்து யாரையும் மாற்ற முடியாது. சில விஷயங்கள், நம்பிக்கைகள் genetic ல் ஏறி இருக்கும் அது போல் தான் கடவுள் நம்பிக்கை. யாரும் எதையும் நிருபிக்கவேண்டாம். நிருபிக்க பட்டவை உபயோகத்தில் இருக்கும். இல்லாதவை கதை படுத்தப்படும். அதற்கு இதயம், வயிறு, elbow ass என்று பெயர் வைக்கப்படும். வயதானால் பயம் வரும். வந்தால் பிடிக்க கம்பு தேடும். நமக்கு வயதாகிக்கொண்டு இருக்கிறது.
